Encounter in Tanzania
Who we are

A small charity with deep roots.

No continent is growing faster in population, and few are richer in raw materials than Africa. Yet countries like Tanzania remain among the poorest in the world and cannot solve their challenges alone.

We have been a registered non-profit association in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany since 23 January 2001. Our partner on the ground is the Diocese of Mbulu in northern Tanzania – it operates two hospitals, 15 health centres, and five secondary and vocational schools.

Trust is an obligation.

We only release project funds once a justified application is in hand – with a cost framework, expected benefit and implementation plan. Closing reports with receipts and photos are mandatory.

Every two to three years we travel to Tanzania to confirm progress in person. The flight costs are generally borne by the travellers themselves.

More on transparency

Every donation counts.

€150 funds a year of secondary day school. €600 funds a year at a teachers' college.
